Two years ago I planted a ×Mangave ‘Macho Mocha’ I had gotten from a friend. It was lonely (and beautiful) until this confine when it bloomed. I had expected the woman raise to die, similar most agaves do, only it didn’t. Instead, it multiplied. And piece I don’t heed to a greater extent than plants, I didn’t intend this clump was all that attractive:
Here is a closer shot:
Like all mangaves (intergeneric hybrids betwixt manfredas in addition to agaves), it has fairly juicy leaves. That fact isn’t lost on the snails, which are out in addition to almost directly later on our recent rains:
How produce snails care to crawl into the centre of a leafage earlier chowing down? What self control!
Using a shovel, I popped the whole clump out of the soil in addition to and thence separated it. This is what I ended upward with:
No roots, no problem. The offsets volition re-root chop-chop provided the warm weather condition volition continue.
The nicest showtime went dorsum inwards the ground, inwards the same spot:
The other pups are directly inwards an unused vegetable bed inwards the backyard where they tin re-root. If anybody inwards the Davis/Sacramento/Bay Area wants one, delight allow me know. I bring 6 of varying sizes left.
